Following an initial assessment of up to 90 minutes I offer psychotherapy and counselling sessions of 50 minutes, weekly, face to face or remotely online in a therapeutic relationship. For couples and more complex cases sessions may be extended to 90 minutes.
Not everyone finds it easy to share the distress they experience within, with another human being, so I offer scope for working more creatively through, for example, using art and music, to bring healing.
Through treatment I aim to bring a better understanding of how, and why (where possible and appropriate) distress has arisen. While treatment needs to be allowed to take as long as it takes and not be limited to a finite number of sessions there are occasions where Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is appropriate.
Where life experience has been traumatic I can offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapy.
